Microsoft recently announced that it will be changing the name of its Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) to Microsoft Entra ID by the end of 2023.
Azure AD has remained one of the top cloud-computing resources for growing businesses in recent years, offering vital security solutions such as single sign-on, multifactor authentication, and conditional access. These features are able defend your business from over 99% of cybersecurity attacks.
This rebranding will only include the modification of the standalone license names, leaving the included features and pricing unchanged.
“Capabilities and licensing plans, sign-in URLs, and APIs remain unchanged, and all existing deployments, configurations, and integrations will continue to work as before,” said Joy Chik, Microsoft President of Identity & Network Access.
Microsoft has said they are starting to deploy notifications of this change within the admin portal, on their websites, in documentation, and anywhere else you may interact with Azure AD currently.
The name change will be completed by the end of 2023 and will require no additional action from customers.
